Habitats + Cultures Studio (2018)

Kisarvik is inspired by the traditional and current culture of Inuit camps. It provides an ideal setting for the transmission of Inuit knowledge between generations.

Set on the land, small cabins are gradually built with the help of young Inuit who participate in creating a place and a sense of belonging. Thus, the camp adapts to their needs in an evolving way, and “materializes” a unique culture, very much alive. The spatial layout reflects that of the igluvigaq, the snow house. The constructions of recycled materials form a camp that relates significatively to the land and landscape.
