This urban design-research aims to highlight dependency links between key conditions (or variables) that influence the development of Northern Villages. Thus, technical constraints—which tend to prevail in a context of urgent construction—are linked to more “sensitive” variables, with a cultural or social content, as well as to design criteria based on urban quality.

The combined constraints and variables define an exploratory tool which provides an opportunity to reflect on the decision-making process and the role of the many stakeholdersinvolved in the development of the living environments in Nunavik.
